annabelleImages

I have taken thousands of images over the past few years, but every now and then I go back over the old ones and the same ones always stand out. This is one of my favourites: The Lower Ord River near Kununurra.

Tourists speed down the Sale River in the Kimberley wet season

A few weeks ago I downloaded the beta version of Adobe Lightroom 4 and then promptly forgot about it. After our 9 day trip up the coast, with thousands of images to go through, I decided to have another look.

Stalking crocodiles

Great billed heron

Another shore excursion…I wasn’t looking for crocodiles and was hoping they weren’t looking for me, but walking around in the mangroves at Augustus Island, one of the larger islands on the Kimberley coast you do feel as though you’re being watched with a view to dinner.

Photoshop CS6 beta

Photoshop CS6 interface

Have been playing around with the beta version of Photoshop CS6 and I’m impressed. I love the new, darker, interface, and the images are quicker to load and seem sharper (my imagination?)

Microbats

Huddled under an overhang at Ruby Falls in Red Cone Creek at the back of Doubtful Bay are a small cluster of microbats, one of 22 species in the Kimberley and one of 35 in Western Australia.

Kimberley Media's cameras

I’m sitting in Broome surrounded by camera and sound gear, trying to magically condense a great pile of stuff into a light and compact arrangement for a forthcoming wet season trip up the Kimberley coast.  What I need is the photographic equivalent of the Tardis.
