I’ve spent the morning touching up and uploading some of Richard Costin’s beautiful images of the Kimberley coast and inland, most of them taken with a Pentax 6×7 medium format camera. One of my favourites is this beautiful wet season shot of Kingfisher Island, in the Buccaneer Archipelago, taken on a low spring tide which exposed the mudflats surrounding the island.
The wet season provides a photographic feast of opportunity as storms roll in, providing drama and colour, and sometimes drenching rain. The image below was taken on Cockatoo Island looking over Yampi Sound.
